Profile:
Verena is a mixed media artist. Mixed media allows combining various substances to the paint and various materials onto the painting surface (paper, sand, inks and more).

Verena’s recent works are semi abstract or abstract: colour, shape and lines are expressing Verena’s environment and her thoughts.
Creating an artwork is constant searching and finding – is the experience of something real, is responding to the world around me, is the freedom to create where no rules limit.

Background:
Born in Switzerland, Verena gained experience and schooling in colour and design work, which has now become an integral part of her ability to control and master these aspects of her work. Her tremendous interest in contemporary European architecture in the 80s and 90s is often visible in her dynamic and interesting work. In 2003 Verena moved to Whitianga, Coromandel Peninsula. Here she has pursued her love for painting inspired by her new environment.
