Kay de Blaauw
I am a mixed media artist known for a modern eclectic style, and use of bold colour, texture and free-flowing form.
My artistic journey began in childhood. I grew up in a family that valued art and freedom of expression, and often had a paintbrush in my hand. In adulthood I have continued experimenting, both with textiles and paint. My formal training started with water colour and life classes at the Waikato Society of Arts, progressing to modern art and abstract courses at Whitecliff. Lately I have been experimenting with layering and mixed media as part of Printmakers Combined.
In keeping with my childhood, I am passionate about introducing people from all walks of life to the joy of art.
