Jane Parson
Jane’s contemporary artwork is inspired by the hills and coastline surrounding her home at Hahei on the Coromandel Peninsula and influences of her childhood in the tussock country of the central South Island often surface in the narrative of her works.
Working intuitively to explore colour and movement she works in oil and cold wax medium or acrylic when painting and also enjoys working with pigments found in the volcanic earth of the Coromandel by combining them with homemade inks which she makes from natures metals and plants. Printmaking is also an integral part of her art practice and she is one of 10 members of the Printmakers Combined group who meet regularly to share ideas and techniques.
Visitors to her chaotic and messy studio are welcome but please phone to make a suitable time!
